SEO Content Lead
Company Description Fonoa is the Tax Operating System for autonomous tax. AI that tracks every rule, acts on every obligation, and proves every decision, built on modular infrastructure. Fonoa’s modules cover the full indirect tax lifecycle: tax ID validation, real-time tax determination, e-invoicing, and returns. All on one shared data model and integration, with one audit trail. Each added capability makes the others stronger. Agents monitor obligations, populate returns, catch anomalies and assemble audit packs in seconds. The system does the work. Humans make the calls. That’s autonomous tax. We operate across 120+ countries, with clients going live in weeks, if not days. Trusted by Canva, Netflix, Spotify, Uber, Zoom and Booking.com . Rated 4.5/5 stars and a High Performer on G2 and 4.6/5 stars on Gartner Peer Insights. Find out more: www.fonoa.com About the Role: As SEO Content Lead, you'll own organic search as a growth channel end-to-end. You'll set the strategy for how Fonoa ranks and wins in search across VAT, GST, e-invoicing, and every indirect tax topic our buyers are researching, then make sure that strategy actually ships: technical SEO health, on-page implementation, and a content pipeline that turns deep tax subject matter into pages that rank and convert. You'll work closely with our tax subject matter experts to keep every piece of content accurate and credible, and with marketing ops to keep the site technically sound. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this is a hands-on role that spans strategy and execution — you're setting direction and doing the work of getting content live and performing, with the support of agencies and freelancers where it is beneficial for growth. What You'll Own Organic strategy . Define Fonoa's SEO roadmap across core tax topics (VAT vs sales tax, GST, reverse charge, VIES, Peppol, e-invoicing by market) and own the keyword, topic cluster, and site architecture decisions behind it.
Content production pipeline . Coordinate the production calendar for SEO content, briefing writers, and turning topic priorities into a steady publishing cadence.
SME coordination. Partner with Fonoa's tax subject matter experts to source accurate, defensible claims for every piece of content. Own the review loop that keeps technical accuracy high without slowing production to a crawl.
Performance and reporting. Track rankings, organic traffic, and conversion from organic content. Report on what's working, what isn't, and where to double down.
Editorial standards. Apply Fonoa's editorial standards consistently: no em dashes, sentence case, active voice, American English, evidence-based claims only.
Who We're Looking For: 3–6 years of SEO experience, ideally with both a strategy/content background and hands-on technical SEO chops (not purely one or the other).
Experience managing a content production pipeline, including briefing and working with writers and subject matter experts, and using AI to optimize your workflows and increase production while maintaining quality.
Comfortable working with complex, technical/regulatory subject matter and translating it into content that ranks and reads well.
Familiarity with core SEO tooling (e.g. Ahrefs, Semrush, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog) and enough technical fluency to diagnose and communicate site issues to engineering.
A strong, precise writer and editor with sharp judgment on what "good" looks like, not just what a checklist says.
Comfortable owning a roadmap independently and prioritizing across strategy, technical fixes, and content production at the same time.
Bonus: experience in B2B SaaS, fintech, or another vertical with technical/regulatory subject matter.
