An exceptional VP of Sales combines the commercial discipline and competence of an enterprise-sales leader with the mindset of a technology operator and builder. This is not a traditional sales-management role: the expectation is to own the development and execution of Omio’s sales strategy as it scales from a high-growth technology company into a global category leader. The ideal candidate will have experience selling to enterprise and strategic customers, scaling a technology company and working for marketplaces, travel, fintech, SaaS or other complex platforms, with analytical rigour and systems thinking.
The VP of Sales will be responsible for revenue growth, sales strategy, pipeline generation, forecasting, commercial productivity and international expansion. The role requires an AI-native approach to building a sales organisation that uses AI extensively across prospecting, account intelligence, qualification, forecasting, proposal generation, customer research and sales productivity.
Responsibilities include developing and executing the company’s global sales strategy; recruiting, developing and retaining exceptional sales leaders and individual contributors; establishing the organisational structure required to scale from hundreds of millions to billions in revenue; developing compensation, incentives and career architecture aligned with company objectives; translating company strategy into clear commercial priorities and measurable objectives; and partnering closely with the CEO and executive team on strategic growth initiatives.
The role will own the sales pipeline and bookings or revenue targets, build predictable pipeline generation across markets, enhance new customer growth and develop strategic account plans for the company’s most important customers. It will also involve developing relationships with CEOs, CIOs, CTOs, CFOs and other senior decision-makers; leading complex, multi-country and multi-year commercial negotiations; positioning the company as a strategic technology partner; and developing partnerships with major distribution and ecosystem players.
The VP of Sales will build an AI-native sales organisation by deploying AI throughout prospecting, account research and qualification; automating administrative work; building AI-assisted account intelligence and opportunity prioritisation; improving forecasting accuracy; developing AI-supported proposal and RFP processes; creating automated sales-coaching and performance-feedback systems; and establishing a culture where salespeople spend more time selling and less time managing CRM systems.
Applicants should have at least 10 years of B2B sales or commercial leadership experience, ideally in a high-growth technology, SaaS, marketplace, fintech or other complex platform business. They should have a proven ability to win new customers and deliver material revenue or bookings growth, including personal ownership of major enterprise or strategic deals. Strong analytical, commercial and sales acumen is required, as is the ability to turn customer, market and performance data into clear priorities and action. Candidates should be AI-native, with practical experience using AI, automation or modern sales technology to improve sales productivity. Travel-sector experience is advantageous but not essential. Fluent English is required; additional languages and willingness to travel internationally are advantageous.
Following acceptance of a job offer, Omio’s background-check provider, SpringVerify, will carry out background screening with the candidate’s consent. Omio encourages applications from people who are still developing some of these skills and welcomes applicants regardless of ethnicity, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, age or disability.
