Tripledot Studios is a multi-award-winning independent mobile games company with a global team of more than 2,500 people across 12 studios. PuzzlePlay is looking for a Data Analyst to own the fraud side of its user segmentation work. The team is building a system that combines fraud and activity signals to understand users and inform revenue-share decisions. You will work alongside the analyst responsible for gameplay signals and collaborate with product and data colleagues to keep the system useful as fraud patterns change. You will regularly revisit segmentation signals and help the product team decide which verification methods are appropriate for each market.
Responsibilities include reviewing, adding, removing and refining fraud signals to distinguish suspicious activity from legitimate users; owning the fraud-related segments of the user segmentation system; deciding how signals should be interpreted and monitoring how well categories work over time; working with the product team on fraud verification tools; investigating users flagged for manual review, including ambiguous cases in the Tremendous queue; improving the review process; identifying gaps in available signals; and recommending third-party tools for the product roadmap. Signals may include IP spoofing, VPN use and unusual play patterns. Current verification tools include FaceTec facial verification, with potential use of ID scanning or phone verification in other countries.
You should have hands-on experience using data to investigate fraud and shape detection or prevention decisions, rather than simply working alongside a fraud team. You should also have experience designing or improving fraud signals, user segments or review processes, an interest in how fraud tactics evolve, and the ability to work with product and other teams to turn analysis into operational fraud controls.
The role is open to candidates based in Europe, with Warsaw preferred because several colleagues are based there. Benefits include 25 days’ paid holiday in addition to bank holidays; hybrid working with 20 days of remote working from anywhere in the world or to cover mandatory office days; a daily £12 lunch allowance when working in the office; company events and rewards; an Employee Assistance Programme; family-forming and fertility support; life assurance and group income cover; continuous professional development; private medical cover and a health cash plan; dental cover; a Cycle to Work Scheme; and a pension plan with qualifying earnings or an optional 4% contributory match scheme.
