ICO

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is the UK's independent authority for upholding information rights in the public interest. It enforces the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and other information rights legislation, and advises individuals and organisations on their rights and obligations. The ICO was originally established as the Office of the Data Protection Registrar under the Data Protection Act 1984, and was renamed in 2001.
