Microbiology Society

The Microbiology Society is a UK-based membership charity and learned society for scientists working in microbiology, founded in 1945 as the Society for General Microbiology. With over 8,000 members across more than 100 countries, it is the largest learned microbiological society in Europe, publishing eight peer-reviewed journals and awarding over 500 grants annually. It advances understanding of microbiology through conferences, publications, and community support.
