The University Challenge Seed Fund (UCSF) is a UK government-backed seed funding programme established in 1999 to help universities commercialise research and intellectual property by providing early-stage capital to spinout companies. Administered in partnership with individual universities and co-investment partners across the UK, it makes small investments typically under £250,000 to support academic founders in turning research into viable businesses. The programme has been adopted by multiple UK institutions including Oxford University Innovation.
