A city that builds
London is the largest tech ecosystem in Europe. Over 80,000 startups, hundreds of meetups every week, and a density of talent that rivals anywhere on the planet.
But the infrastructure that holds this community together hasn't kept up. Event listings are scattered across a dozen platforms. Company directories are outdated the day they're published. The map of who's building what, and where, exists only in the heads of the people who've been here long enough to know.
What we're building
Build in London is a single, open digital frontpage for London's tech ecosystem:
- Events — every meetup, hackathon, and conference in one place, updated daily
- Directory — the companies, communities, and organisations that make London's tech scene what it is
- Jobs — roles at companies that are genuinely building in London
- Map — a living, geographic view of the ecosystem
Why now
The old "Tech City" brand was a top-down initiative. It had its moment, but it was never truly owned by the community it claimed to represent.
What London needs now is something built from the ground up — open data, open source, and maintained by the people who actually show up to the meetups, hire the engineers, and ship the products.
The best way to understand a city's tech scene is to see it all in one place.
Get involved
Build in London is open source and community-driven. If you run events, hire in London, or just want to help map the ecosystem, we'd love to hear from you.
This is just the beginning.
