Senior Business Development Manager – Vertical Markets at NexGen Cloud, the company behind Hyperstack, a full-stack AI cloud serving customers from AI researchers to enterprises running compute-intensive workloads. The company delivers on-demand and private GPU infrastructure and is a tight-knit, fast-moving team working at the cutting edge of AI cloud infrastructure.
This role will extend Hyperstack’s position into compute-intensive, regulated and specialist industries, including financial services, healthcare and life sciences, robotics and autonomous systems, computer vision and industrial AI. You will own a named vertical end to end: developing the demand thesis, mapping target accounts, leading the outbound motion and taking every deal through to signature. This is a full-cycle role with responsibility for the strategy, pipeline and close, becoming the recognised commercial authority for your vertical inside NexGen and a credible presence externally.
Responsibilities include owning and sizing a named vertical and turning it into a prioritised target account map; self-sourcing most of your pipeline and engaging CIOs, CTOs, Chief Data or AI Officers, procurement and risk functions; leading technical discovery and owning commercial proposals, security reviews, procurement, legal and MSA negotiations through to signature; structuring multi-year committed reservations and on-demand entry points; maintaining a forecast against which the business can plan capacity; building Hyperstack’s presence through industry events, analyst and partner relationships, reference customers and case studies; feeding vertical requirements into Product, Capacity and Marketing; and acting as the internal reference point for your vertical by briefing the wider Sales team and raising the technical floor around you.
Candidates should typically have 8+ years in business development, enterprise sales or solution sales, including at least 3 years carrying a new business number in complex enterprise environments. You should have a demonstrable record of opening net-new enterprise logos from a standing start, deep credibility and an active buying-level network in at least one compute-intensive vertical, and substantive infrastructure fluency across areas such as cloud, IaaS, HPC, data centres, GPUs or AI compute. You should also be able to demonstrate closing complex deals through procurement, security review and legal, with contract values and cycle lengths you can discuss in detail.
Desirable experience includes working at a neo-cloud, GPU-as-a-Service platform, hyperscaler or HPC infrastructure vendor; owning a vertical or industry go-to-market remit; familiarity with regulated buying environments, data residency and sovereignty, isolation requirements, security and compliance reviews; selling committed capacity or reservation-style contracts; and formal sales methodology such as MEDDPICC or Command of the Message.
The role offers a competitive base salary with uncapped commission and accelerators above target, plus equity participation; private medical insurance; employee wellbeing benefits; 25 days of holiday plus public holidays; hybrid working with Tuesday to Thursday in the London office; real ownership of a named vertical; a route to principal-level individual contribution or vertical leadership; and a collaborative, international culture built on trust, transparency and ownership.
