We are looking for a Product Design Manager - Design System who thinks at a system level and understands how to create a scalable UI ecosystem that spans multiple products, teams, and platforms. You will build the foundation of the product user interfaces, taking full ownership of component libraries, interaction models, and cross-platform design consistency. You will act as the bridge between design and engineering, ensuring that visual assets translate seamlessly into clean, reusable, and accessible production code.
Responsibilities include maintaining exceptionally high standards for layout, typography, colour, spacing, visual hierarchy, and overall digital finish across reusable elements; designing, building, and maintaining robust component libraries such as buttons, inputs, cards, navigation, forms, and tables; defining interactive behaviours and state transitions including hover, focus, disabled, loading, and mobile behaviours; structuring and maintaining design tokens covering colours, spacing, typography, border-radius, and shadows; organising complex variants, properties, and components within Figma; partnering closely with engineering teams to navigate technical constraints across Web, React, Flutter, Android, and iOS or Native app environments; and creating comprehensive usage guidelines and documentation explaining when, why, and how components should and should not be used.
The role requires an extensive track record of building, scaling, and maintaining production-ready design systems rather than standalone product features; deep understanding of the constraints and guidelines governing Web, iOS, and Android; a portfolio demonstrating how design decisions impact multiple products, scale sustainably, and optimise designer and engineer workflows; and strong familiarity with how developers inspect, build, and consume components in code repositories.
You should have advanced Figma knowledge, including libraries, auto-layout, components, variants, variables, and library publication; a solid grasp of accessibility standards, WCAG, contrast requirements, and inclusive design principles; familiarity with component-driven frameworks such as React and Flutter and with Atomic Design methodology; and excellent writing and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex design system choices into clear executive-level updates and technical guidelines.
Success in this role will include high adoption and efficiency, with design and engineering teams actively using the system to accelerate product shipping cycles; flawless cross-platform consistency across Web, Android, and iOS; best-in-class documentation that provides a living source of truth for design tokens, component rules, and brand compliance; and scalable architecture that supports future product expansions, rebrands, or theme changes with minimal friction.
Moniepoint offers competitive compensation, benefits, career growth opportunities, a fully remote work culture, and support for professional development.
The hiring process includes an application and portfolio review assessing experience, leadership impact, and Design System case studies; a preliminary phone call with a recruiter; an interview with senior leadership covering leadership approach, design philosophy, past projects, and cross-functional collaboration; a design leadership challenge assessing strategic thinking and leadership skills while balancing UX/UI expertise; and a final executive conversation assessing alignment with the company’s vision, strategic thinking, and team-building philosophy.
Applicants should submit a resume and portfolio showcasing leadership in managing design teams, driving strategy, and delivering user-centred solutions with measurable business impact. Portfolios should include case studies demonstrating how applicants have led and developed designers, prioritised and managed projects, fostered a high-performing team culture, and used research, data, and experimentation to inform decisions, optimise workflows, and drive success metrics.
