The Merseyside Special Investment Fund (MSIF) is a Liverpool-based alternative finance provider that has invested over £151 million into more than 1,690 small and medium-sized businesses since its establishment in 1996. It operates through four funds — the Liverpool Seed Fund, MSIF Small Firms Fund, MSIF Mezzanine Fund, and MSIF Venture Fund — providing finance ranging from £3,000 to over £2 million. Investments are managed by its subsidiary River Capital and focus predominantly on the Liverpool City Region and broader North West England.
