The AI Security Institute (AISI) is the UK government's research body dedicated to understanding and mitigating the risks posed by advanced AI systems. Operating within the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, it conducts technical safety research, evaluates frontier AI models, and works with governments and AI developers to develop safeguards. Originally established in November 2023 as the AI Safety Institute, it was renamed AISI in February 2025.
The AI Standards Hub is a UK initiative dedicated to knowledge sharing, community building, and strategic research around the standardisation of AI technologies. Bloqs (formerly Building BloQs) is a not-for-private-profit open-access workshop and social enterprise based in Enfield, north London, providing professional members with pay-as-you-go access to over 32,000 square feet of industrial facilities for woodworking, metalworking, textiles, CNC routing, laser cutting, and 3D printing. Founded in 2012 in response to rising rental costs pricing makers out of London, it is sited at the Meridian Water regeneration development and also hosts training, events, a café, and a shop open to the local community.
