Nscale is the GPU cloud engineered for AI, providing cost-effective, high-performance infrastructure for AI start-ups and large enterprise customers. The Legal & Compliance team partners with stakeholders to anticipate regulatory change, operationalise compliance requirements and deliver solutions that protect the company while enabling commercial opportunities to scale confidently, sustainably and with integrity.
As Nscale’s dedicated investigator in the UK or EMEA, you will mainly handle SpeakUp reports and compliance investigations across the company’s offices and data centre sites. You will run cases from intake to outcome report, applying legal requirements and Nscale’s global Investigation Standards. You will be the local point of contact for Legal, People and site leadership on sensitive matters, and help shape the investigations programme as Nscale’s footprint grows. Key stakeholders include Operations and corporate teams; Legal, including employment and external counsel; People; Finance; Information Security; Data Privacy; and Physical Security.
You will lead and conduct investigations into misconduct and compliance concerns; build investigation plans; interview reporters, witnesses and subjects; and gather and analyse documents and data. You will follow Legal guidance on privilege and evidence preservation, including delivering privacy and confidentiality warnings where directed. You will write clear, fact-based investigation outcome reports and recommendations, escalate matters without delay when required, and support other geographies and functions with internal investigations.
You will work with Legal counsel to apply local requirements to case handling, including rules on interview recording and employee monitoring, and support anti-retaliation protections under applicable whistleblower laws. You will recommend proportionate disciplinary and corrective actions, track remediation to completion, carry out post-closure wellness checks with reporters to monitor for retaliation, and keep case records complete and audit-ready in the case management platform.
You will deliver SpeakUp and investigations training to managers and internal investigators, and suggest improvements to templates, processes and tooling based on case learnings. As workload permits, you will also support the wider Global Compliance & Ethics programme by helping design and deliver compliance training and awareness campaigns, contributing to programme reviews and risk assessments, supporting compliance improvement projects, and assisting with compliance monitoring, metrics, reporting and other compliance tasks.
You should have 6–8 years’ experience conducting compliance investigations, a strong background in investigations practice, and strong interviewing skills, including with senior leaders and in sensitive situations. You will need working knowledge of employment laws and investigation practices, including anti-retaliation and privacy requirements; clear, concise report-writing skills that separate facts from opinion; discretion, impartiality and sound judgement when handling highly confidential information; and the ability to manage several cases at once and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Preferred experience includes workplace and harassment investigations, certification such as CFE, CCEP or AWI-CH, experience with case management platforms, experience in data centre, construction, infrastructure or high-growth technology environments, and additional language skills.
