Nscale is the GPU cloud engineered for AI, providing cost-effective, high-performance infrastructure for AI start-ups and large enterprise customers. Its Legal & Compliance team partners with stakeholders to anticipate regulatory change, operationalise compliance requirements and protect the company while enabling commercial opportunities.
As Manager, Hotline & Investigations, you will own Nscale’s SpeakUp hotline and lead internal investigations globally. You will manage the full case lifecycle, from intake and triage through fact-finding, reporting and remediation, and build the programme as Nscale expands into new countries. This is a hands-on role requiring discretion, sound judgement and the ability to withstand scrutiny from auditors and regulators.
Key stakeholders include the People team, Employment Legal, the Legal team, Finance, Information Security, Data Privacy, Physical Security and business leadership.
You will own the day-to-day operation of the SpeakUp hotline and case management platform, including configuration, intake channels, language coverage, user access, triage and communications. You will manage the platform provider relationship, including contractual obligations, renewals, budget and service levels, and run regular service reviews while escalating and resolving issues.
You will lead Compliance-owned investigations and coordinate investigations led by other teams. Responsibilities include preparing investigation plans, interviewing reporters, witnesses and subjects, gathering and analysing evidence, and writing investigation outcome reports and recommendations. You will work under the direction of Legal to preserve privilege, apply local-law requirements and manage external counsel or forensic consultants within budget, escalating matters without delay when required.
You will set and enforce case-data standards, run quality checks, own user access and permissions, audit trails, confidentiality controls and retention rules, and work with Information Security and Data Privacy to keep the system secure and audit-ready. You will refine programme metrics, maintain leadership dashboards, produce SpeakUp reports with figures reconciled to the system, identify emerging risks and patterns, and turn case outcomes into lessons for policy, training and control improvements. You will also improve case categorisation and data quality so trends in culture and controls are visible early.
The role includes maintaining procedures, standards, templates and toolkits; ensuring investigators are trained and equipped to conduct cases to Nscale standards; designing and implementing SpeakUp awareness campaigns; and tracking whistleblowing law changes so the channel can be adapted for new jurisdictions.
You should have 8–10 years of experience in investigations, compliance or legal roles, with a record of leading compliance investigations end-to-end. You will need hands-on experience running or supporting a whistleblowing or ethics hotline, including triage, case management and reporting to senior leadership and committees. Strong interviewing skills, knowledge of evidence handling, confidentiality and fair-process principles, and working knowledge of whistleblowing, data protection and employment law across multiple jurisdictions are required. You should be able to produce clear, fact-based findings that withstand scrutiny from Legal, the Audit Committee and regulators, and handle sensitive matters with empathy, impartiality and discretion.
A legal qualification or investigations background in Big Four forensics, a law firm or an in-house compliance team is preferred, as is experience with case management platforms, high-growth technology or infrastructure businesses, establishing hotline processes in new countries, and additional language skills.
