Data Scientist / Senior Data Scientist (London)
As a member of the C3 AI Data Science team, you will work with some of the largest companies on the planet, helping them build the next generation of AI-powered enterprise applications on the C3 AI Platform. You will work directly with data scientists, software engineers and subject-matter experts to define new analytics capabilities that provide customers with the information they need to make decisions and enable digital transformation. You will identify appropriate machine-learning and data-mining algorithms and implement them on the C3 AI Platform so they can run at scale. Some travelling is expected.
Responsibilities include leading the research, design, implementation and deployment of machine-learning algorithms, intelligent agents and optimisation solutions for enterprise applications leveraging the C3 AI Suite; assisting and enabling C3 AI customers to build their own applications on the C3 AI Suite; contributing to the design and implementation of new C3 AI Suite features; analysing model performance across asset fleets, diagnosing issues such as low risk scores or false positives, and recommending hyperparameter adjustments; and collaborating with data and subject-matter experts from C3 AI and customer teams to seek, understand, validate, interpret and correctly use new data elements.
Candidates should have an MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research or a related field; applied AI experience including generative AI, agentic solutions, regression and classification, and supervised and unsupervised learning; a strong mathematical background in linear algebra, calculus, probability and statistics; and experience with scalable machine learning such as MapReduce and streaming. You should be able to drive a project and work independently and in a team, with a smart, motivated, can-do attitude and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred qualifications include experience with JavaScript and prototyping languages such as Python and R; experience with Java and Scala is a plus. A portfolio of projects, such as GitHub repositories or papers, is also a plus. C3 AI provides excellent benefits, a competitive compensation package and a generous equity plan.
