Principal AI Content Designer, Wise Assistant
Full-time role. Compensation: GBP 128,000–GBP 173,000 yearly.
Your mission is to explore how to harness the potential of AI to scale your impact as a designer. You’ll quickly test and iterate on your ideas with a high degree of freedom and flexibility, learning as part of your day-to-day work as the technology evolves.
You’ll shape the core Wise Assistant experience for Support and beyond. You’ll design the system that guides customers through every part of the Wise product, giving them quick and reliable help exactly when they need it. Together with your technical partners, you’ll architect and design agents, own prompts, and define how context and knowledge are used to resolve real customer problems.
This role sits within the Content Design Guild as part of the Design team, where the disciplines share a common skill set and design process.
How you’ll contribute: - Work with engineers, product managers and data scientists to design systems that enable conversational AI experiences for customers. - Collaborate across engineering, data science, product and design to set the vision and strategy, and coach teams to deliver it. - Shape agent behaviour, define how system components interact, and own prompts, reasoning and context. - Influence your product area by identifying and prioritising system needs and delivering impactful projects across multiple teams. - Raise design maturity and deepen the Support squad’s understanding of context engineering. - Collaborate with Wise’s wider content community and partner with Model and Content Designers to evolve how designers work with AI.
This role gives you the opportunity to own the squad’s automation strategy end to end and steer its direction, champion quality for customers by defining what good looks like within the squad, and demonstrate it through everything you ship. You’ll also help Wise fix a broken system and put people and businesses in control of their money.
About you: You’re an accomplished and experienced Model Designer, or a systems-focused Content Designer who has already made this transition in your day-to-day work. You bring extensive experience designing large, complex automation systems that deliver exceptional customer experiences.
You have an in-depth understanding of AI and strong perspectives on how its underpinning systems should be shaped, both within user-facing products and as part of the design process. You’ve designed systems that generate content and experiences to guide customers, including prompts, guardrails, knowledge architecture and agents.
You enjoy learning new things, exploring technical details and applying what you learn to solve complex problems. You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity, learn quickly and put what you learn into practice. You have an eye for quality and know where to focus to improve it.
You’re influential and inspiring, work well with others in a culture that values autonomy and empowerment, champion the role of model design and content design in automation-based projects, and enjoy coaching designers who are new to these kinds of products. You’re highly empathetic towards customers and colleagues.
This role requires hands-on experience with a large-scale automated system, a high level of technical expertise and the ability to partner as an equal with data scientists and engineers when designing large, complex AI systems. You should already have strong working knowledge of common prompt-engineering techniques and frameworks, context engineering and agentic design. Experience limited to marketing content, advertising, copywriting, journalism or social media without hands-on experience in model design, content design or UX is not suitable.
Wise is committed to building inclusive teams that are diverse, equitable and inclusive. It has a truly international team and celebrates its differences, helping every Wiser feel respected, empowered to contribute and able to progress in their career.
