Senior Partner Operations Manager (German Speaking) — full-time. Wise Platform allows banks, fintechs, and enterprises to embed Wise's international payments infrastructure directly into their own products, powering partners globally, including major banks and fintechs in EMEA.
EMEA is Wise Platform's largest and most mature market. This role owns the operational relationship and volume retention for a portfolio of Tier 1 partners representing more than £10 million in annual revenue across the UK and Germany. These are among Wise Platform's most strategically important and technically complex partnerships. Knowledge of the payments or cross-border payments industry and German language skills are essential.
You will act as a strategic architect and trusted operations and scalability adviser to partner leadership, identifying and closing internal operational gaps that unlock organic revenue before they become blockers. You will manage operational relationships for partnerships with complex product integrations, including Cards, MCA, Correspondent Send via API and Swift, and Correspondent Receive. You will navigate high-level stakeholder alignment and influence Wise's Product and Servicing roadmaps so the platform meets the needs of demanding partners. You will operate with significant autonomy, represent Wise with senior partner stakeholders, and build frameworks and playbooks that scale the Wise way of working across the Partner Operations organisation.
You will own the end-to-end operational relationship for Tier 1 EMEA partners, acting as a trusted adviser to operational and executive stakeholders, lead QBRs that connect operational performance with commercial goals, and independently drive operational success strategies and plans for owned accounts in partnership with the Account Manager. You will identify and close operational gaps that unlock revenue, build data-backed business cases to secure support from Product, Servicing, Compliance and Engineering, and represent Wise Platform in cross-functional initiatives that influence the roadmap before partner problems arise.
You will act as incident commander for cross-regional, high-severity incidents, coordinating technical, commercial and operational stakeholders, drafting partner communications, and deciding when and how to communicate with partners. You will own post-incident follow-through, including postmortem actions, remediation reviews, runbooks, communications criteria and escalation playbooks.
You will build frameworks and playbooks for new products, markets and cross-team processes; mentor and support other Partner Operations team members; contribute to the organisation's scaling agenda; and flag systemic capacity issues to leadership using supporting data. You will own core service-level and operational scalability metrics for your portfolio, including Payment Success Rate, Contact Rate, RFI Rate, Defect Rate and Partner Health Score. You will use advanced data analysis to identify operational blockers and propose API or process improvements with clear return-on-investment framing.
You should have experience in project management, business operations and account management for Tier 1 enterprise clients in payments, fintech or financial services; professional-level spoken and written German; experience managing Tier 1 relationships with clients generating more than $5 million in annual recurring revenue, including executive-level stakeholder management; strong technical fluency in APIs, webhooks and payment rails; experience leading incident or crisis response with external clients; advanced data analysis skills using SQL, Looker, Lightdash or equivalent; and strong negotiation and presentation skills. Bonus experience includes regulatory frameworks affecting cross-border payments, ownership of Tier 1 bank or major fintech relationships in EMEA, additional languages such as French or Portuguese, and business operations experience.
